Startup Camp
ITP students are taught creativity but not the basics of how to start a business. After graduation, however, many recent graduates take their student projects and try to create businesses with neither experience nor direction. ITP Startup Camp attempts to stand in the breach between the two by putting student and alumni entrepeneurs together with current students. Conceived as an annual event the first weekend after winter break, the first attempt will be April 19, 2009 at ITP.
What is it?
Startup Camp is a day long “unconference” which encourages alumni entrepeneurs to tell current students what it takes to start a business. This serves as an opportunity for the alumni community to give back to the current students and an opportunity for all involved to meet like-minded entrepeneurs.
How It Works:
1) Students, Alumni, and interested New Media professionals are invited to attend
2) Alumni and Students who have experience running businesses sign up to lecture on topics of their choice
3) Students attend sessions on a diverse set of subjects.
4) Explore our ITP Startup Camp WIKI and sign up for our next session.
